Overview

In 2017 Apple Music sponsored one of the biggest and most anticipated fashion events of the year – the annual Met Gala – celebrating the opening of the Costume Institute’s exhibit, “Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between”.

We partnered with them to create print ads featuring their curated and popular playlists: Mood, It’s Lit, Today’s Chill, New Fire, and #onrepeat.

Process

From setting up a canvas at the studio and creating our own colorful masterpiece using gallons of paint, to using graphite and charcoal on a sketch pad, to a repeated paper cutout, each playlist theme conjured a variety of visual languages that were extremely fun to work on.
